Wards:
Masongola Ward: Masongola ward covers areas of Malonje, Old Naisi, Ndangopuma, Mulunguzi and Mangasanja. This ward is the is the oldest part of the city and is known for its colonial buildings of unique architectural designs. Its is also where the old parliament building and also “Top Hospital” which used to be Zomba Central Hospital before it was moved.

Chirunga Ward: Chirunga ward covers Nandolo, Chancellor College, Mulunguzi Secondary School, Sogoja, Matawale Housing and Thom Allan. This ward is home to “The Great Hall” and The University of Malawi.

Central Ward: Central ward constitutes Zomba City Centre, Police College, Zakazaka and Ndola. Zomba Central Business District (CBD), the Zomba Bus Depot, Zomba Flea Market and the Community Stadium are in Central Ward.

Mbedza Ward: Mbedza Ward covers Kalimbuka, Ntiya 1, Chingalangande and Prison. It is home to the World War Memorial tower.

Ntiya Ward: Ntiya Ward comprises of Zilindo and Saw Mill areas. Ntiya Ward is home to Cobbe Barracks.

Chinamwali Ward: This ward covers Habitat, Chinamwali trading Centre, Kalimba and Mpalume.
The current Councillor for Chinamwali is Councillor Davie Maunde who is also the Mayor for Zomba City.
Chambo Ward: Chambo ward covers Bwaila, St Marys, Agriculture and Namalaka.
The current Councillor for Chambo is Councillor Eddah Nkula
Sadzi Ward: This ward covers Chikowi, Sadzi, New Road and a part of 3 miles.

Mpira Ward: Mpira Ward covers areas of Mpunga, Thundu, Chalomwe and Likungwati.
