Zomba City Council (ZCC) has held a townhall meeting, which brought together citizens, councilors, and city officials to discuss local issues and provide updates on projects and activities.
Speaking during the meeting, His Worship, the Mayor of Zomba City, Councilor Christopher Jana called on the residents to be proactive and law-abiding, emphasizing the importance of community participation in the city’s development.
The meeting was held under the theme Zomba; Our City, Our Future. It consisted of presentations and provided a platform for the residents to ask questions.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer for Zomba City, Archangel Bakolo requested various stakeholders to assist the council in development activities happening in the city.
Reacting to the CEO request, the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) has pledged to support the Council in its plans, proving zeal in supporting development activities.
Citizens expressed satisfaction with the meeting and proposed concrete solutions to several developmental activities, including infrastructure development, waste management, and social services. The meeting also provided an opportunity for citizens to interact with various officers from the Council, fostering a sense of transparency and accountability.
ZCC intends to hold townhall meetings on Quarterly basis.
